A philosophy I’ve always gone by is, “I am here to work, not to make friends,” when it came to making friends at work. I got that from a cousin of mine. She always said, my time here could be temporary, so there’s not reason to make friends and for some reason, I felt that. However, later on in my career, I found that it was important to make friends at work. It was an important key to my personal happiness and was more importantly vital for having a successful career. Below is a list of reasons you should make friends with women you work with.
Whenever you are feeling stressed about work or are dealing with some issues with your work, you can always have that work friend girl that you can go and vent and she’ll be able to give you the advice or pep talk that you may need to make it through the workday.
You Learn How to Navigate the Workplace
When you’re new to a workplace, you may not know how things operate. However, making friends will help you out in a major way. They will look out for you, tell you how everyone is in the office, office politics and even give you tips on how to finesse the system.
