Have you ever been thinking about planning a trip with your girl friends and someone says, “so who is going to plan the trip?” and everybody go ghost? Or the trip start out with 10 people saying they want to go, but three months before the trip only 5 people are still interested and two months before only 3 people are still interested and the month of the trip, only one person want to go? Check out the tips below to see how to plan a successful trip with your girls.
1. Make Yourself the Designated Trip Planner
As I mentioned earlier, the group chat always goes dead when someone ask who is going to plan the trip. If you are serious and really want to go on a trip with your girls, make yourself the designated trip planner and get the details together.
2. Pick a Destination
Give the group you’re planning a trip with a couple of options for a destination so you all can decide quickly where you want to go. Don’t give the group too many options and when you have a destination picked, DON’T give out more options. You’ll have to redo all of your planning and it’s a hassle.
3. Establish a Budget
Once you have a destination picked out. Start looking for a place for the group to stay, plane tickets and things to do in the groups destination. When you establish a budget, it’ll weed out whose really going to be down. When you establish a budget, you can also establish when certain money is due. For example, AirBnb allows you to pay half of your trip now and half later. Let everyone know how much the first half and how much the first half is equally divided by the number of people going and set a date for that to be due. AirBnb gives you the date for the second half to be due and that way everyone has time to save up money for the second half of their payment.
4. Book Your Accommodations & Flights
This is the moment you know everyone is serious, once money is put down on the accommodations and the flight or whatever the means of transportation is paid for! Find a place that is in reasonable pricing for everyone and close to places you’ll be visiting and doing while at your destination.
5. Create a Rough Itinerary
Obviously things don’t always go as planned and it’s always fun to be spontaneous with things that you do while on a trip with your friends, having a rough itinerary of things that you all could possibly do is a great idea. You’ll know beforehand possible things to do and if you can’t think of something to do, you’ll already have a list.
