If there was anybody (besides Tracee Ellis Ross) that I looked up to in the entertainment industry, it would most definitely be none other than Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs. First the fuck of all, he is worth $825 million. Ain’t no way, one person should be worth all of that money. Secondly, his story and how he got to $825 million is SOOOO freaking inspiring. He started off as in intern at New York’s Uptown Records. After being fired from the company, he established his new label Bad Boy Entertainment as a joint venture with Arista Records. I mean the man does music, film, fashion, Combs Enterprise, reality TV Shows, which by the way, I remember watching Making the Band and this nigga made niggas walk through FIVE BOROUGHS for some damn cheesecakes. And that’s when I knew, I wanted to be a boss like Diddy someday. Honestly, a dream of mine is to be VP, Social Media/Marketing with Combs Enterprises or VP, Human Resources with Combs Enterprises. Anyway, outside of me oogling over this man, I wanted to share some inspirational quotes from none other Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs himself to motivate you to get to $825 million.
“Success doesn’t just land on your lap. You have to work, work, work, work and work some more.”
“If you want to fly, you have to give up things that weigh you down.”
“Don’t get yourself in certain circumstances or instances, because it’s not a good feeling to be sitting in that chair where you’ve got 12 people that are in control of your life. You have an opportunity to be in control of your life for yourself by the decisions that you make.”
“I think that you have to believe. That’s one of my biggest mantras, is believe. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t believe in myself.”
“Don’t chase the paper, chase the dream.”
“Initiative is key. Anybody who wants to be somebody is going to work as hard as they can to fulfill that dream.”
“We’re all dreamers, but there’s a reality to achieve our dreams. And I think that’s what separates the successful dreamers from the people that lay in bed and dream, that when we open our eyes, we see clearly what we have to do to achieve our dreams.”
“Nobody is going to take you to the front of the line unless you push your way to the front of the line.”
“You cannot achieve success without failure.”
“Take the craziest dream you ever had and go after it. Make it a reality. I don’t want you to dream, I want you to do.”
Needless to say, if you’ve ever needed some words of encouragement for whatever it is that you want to do in life, follow Diddy. Obviously the man knows what he is talking about and can give you a pointer or two about following your dreams. This is why I love following him on Twitter and Instagram.
