Kombucha is a fermented, slightly alcoholic, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea drink commonly intended as a functional beverage for its supposed health benefits.
I remember the first time I tried Kombucha. It was extremely nasty. I took a sip and immediately threw it away. But the Bayou Berry brand of Kombucha was extremely good. I was drinking the Kombucha, but I didn’t understand why I was drinking it. I follow a mental health/wellness blog on Instagram and they rave about how good it is for you and decided to be a trend follower and drink it. So I did research and wanted to see with you all what I found about the health benefits of drinking Kombucha tea.
Kombucha is a rich source of probiotics. Kombucha is made with probiotics when can provide your gut with healthy bacteria. It can also improve health, including digestion, inflammation, diarrhea and can ease irritable bowel syndrome.
Can help with mental health. There may be a link between probiotics and depression, suggesting that drinking a probiotic-rich drink such as Kombucha can help promote positive mental health.
Provide the benefits of green tea. Green tea is one of the most healthiest drinks out there to drink. If Kombucha is made with green tea it can provide the same benefits to include weight loss.
May help manage type 2 diabetes. In a 2012 study, Kombucha helped manage blood sugar levels in rats with diabetes.
Now that I know the health benefits of Kombucha, this will be a new drink that I add to my weekly/daily diet.
